Globalization — 🔥Part 3 (Marketing)🔥⁣

We finally made it to the last step of the globalization phase: Marketing!
.⁣
You don’t need to come up with a fully-fledged marketing plan for all the markets you want to enter, but you should give it some thought at this stage.⁣
.⁣
Why?🤔⁣
Because different countries/cultures require different marketing strategies, and some of them will require more work, time and money than others.⁣
.⁣
Let’s say you want to bring your game app to East Asia. Then a great way to promote your game would be a partnership with the popular messaging apps in these regions (WeChat, LINE & KakaoTalk). They reach an enormous amount of people and have propelled quite a few games to the top spots in local app stores.⁣
.⁣
But partnerships like these require planning, proposals and time. So, you don’t want to localize your game to Japanese and then realize you have no idea of how to promote it effectively.⁣
.⁣
Don’t make the mistake of skipping this step. Think about how much effort you put into marketing when you first released your game. If you localize it for other markets, you need to let players know that your game is now available for them. Otherwise, they probably won’t buy it.⁣
.⁣
Did you market the localized versions of your game? Or did you just put it out there and hope for the best?⁣
